Solid cherry, 1 1/2” thick. Plans from the Woodsmith Shop TV. Took about 20 hours. This is a little more tricky due to the angles and took longer than I thought it would but overall I’m happy with the results.

Very nice bench. How did you finish it – satin poly?

Lew, the tenons are false tenons. Love the illusion they create.
Dan, the finish so far is just minwax cherry stain. I plan to put on some poly once it gets warmer.

Thanks Matt!

Sweet looking bench, I love cherry. I had to look up what a false tenons are, so it’s basically a spline? Either way, great fit and look.

Love the choice of cherry. I recently built the same project and really enjoyed it. Works as a bench or a coffee table.
