This is a table that I just finished up. It was from one single 9” thick piece of wood that was pulled out of a fire pile at a slab mill in NC that I picked some maple at. I set up a router sled to flatten the two side of the log. Then I cut the piece down the center with my chainsaw and hit both new pieces with the router sled again. I cut the small slabs so they matched up, joined them together sanded the crap out of them applied finishing paste and buffed. Then I welded the table base with some 1” square tube and the circles were freebies from a scrap bin at a local machine shop.
