This was a fun summer project that actually cost me nothing! I found the cypress in the rafters of my shop. (The entire building is made of it!) Most of the lumber was 3/4 tounge and groove boards with some serious defects in places, but there was plenty of clear lumber to use. I even found one 16/4 beam that I used to make the legs. This was sitting on my porch for a while, but mom claimed it for her garden. She said the backless design allowed her to sit from either side. It is actually large enough to allow three people to sit very comfortably. Mom moves it from time to time throughout the gardens as she plants new things. It being cypress lets one person move it quite easily.

This looks nicely made. I have to admit that I have never seen a curved top table before. Is this an artistic interpretation of a table or is there a function served by having a curve top?
(I’m not trying to be a smart alec, I would like to know.)

That’s because it’s not a table. This is a bench that sits on my porch.

Really nice bench, and pretty cool to find raw materials laying about…

Nice bench. I’d let it weather. Cypress looks good that way. Your call.

A beautiful bench that doesn’t block the view of your beautiful garden. Good Luck!
