January, 2015—One day on the drive home from work I noticed a pile of wood by the side of the road from some trees that had been cut down. Picked up this chunk of wood and set it on a shelf in the garage. Fast forward at least 6-months. Noticed it and decided to make a band saw box out of it while waiting for glue to dry on another project.

Multiple coats of water-based poly. The drawer knob was turned on my lathe out of oak, and attached with a dowel.

Very nice grain there. Beats having it burned up with the rest5 of the pile. I love raiding the firewood pile.
