First Workbench

Project by Dave posted 323 days ago 676 views 0 times favorited 6 comments Add to Favorites Watch

Here is my first project. I made a workbench for my father for Christmas. It came out pretty good for a first project, the plans came from the Lowes website. I made a few modifications but all in all it’s pretty much what the plan called for. What you can’t see in these pictures is the underneath the 3/4” plywood top there is 2×4’s standing on edge and are glued together, made for a nice and solid top.

Sounds like it’s pretty sturdy and plenty heavy! What use will this workbench get?

Thanks for the comments everyone.

Tomcat1066 – Oh yeah it’s very heavy weighs a little more then I expected :), my Dad likes to tinker and he puts his stuff through the ringer and gives everything a workout. I like to call it “Roger proof” being that is his name :)

Oh one more thing I forgot to add is that I used some Watco Danish Oil for the finish just hand rubbed in. It could probably use another coat at some point.

looks solid enough to get the job done.
