Looks great. What type of finish did you use?

Great Job on the Myrtlewood. I see you have a couple more blanks in the picture.
I like turning Myrtlewood (it is actually California Bay Laurel but Oregon calls it Myrtlewood). Only problem I find is that it quickly dulls high speed steel tools and I have to resharpen frequently. So I try to use carbide tools until I get down to the final cuts then I switch back to steel because it leaves a smoother finish.

Regarding the Myrtlewood name. The tourists shops on the Oregon coast use to market items made from it, saying that Myrtlewood only grows on the Oregon Coast and in the Holy Land. There is a Myrtlewood in North Africa but it is an entirely different tree and the one that grows in Oregon and Northern California is more widely known as the California Bay Laurel. Some people use the leaves as a flavoring substitute for the Greek Bay Laurel used in cooking. The Greek Bay Laurel is another species and won’t grow in climates where it freezes in the winter.

I used a wipe on poly.

i bought these blanks about 15 years ago on the Oregon coast (I think Coos Bay) in a gift shop. I remember going in there and at the back of the shop they had binds of these in 6 and 9” rounds. I bought a big burlap sack full and im down too my last few. I remember the shop person told me that same thing about Myrtlewood funny!
Some of the rounds has some awesome curl in the wood. thanks for your comments.
