This is a closed hollow form vase that I made as Christmas gift to my wife. The wood was walnut from the crotch of the tree. I was able to turn this so both the white sapwod and the dark hardwood were seen. The opening to this vase is the size of a quarter. Wall thickness is just under 1/4 inch thick. The vase is 8 inches high and 8 inches across at it’s widest point. This was sanded through 600 grit and then wiped down with 6 coats of high gloss poly. When the finish was hard the vase was buffed on the Beall wheel.

The nicest side, you got the worst picture, too bad. I like it. Very nice shape and wood selection.
