Now that Christmas is over I can post these just in case any family members were looking here. They are made with walnut, cherry and maple. Some of the cherry is off of a friend’s property in northern Vermont. They were remnants of his flooring. They were flattened with only hand tools. Mainly a Stanley #7 jointer across the grain and then lots of sanding. The finish is mineral oil.

I really like your showpiece with the handle cutout and the gentle curve on your board in the third picture . Very nice job on all of them : )

Very nice. I admire that you did the flattening with only hand tools. I’d have to cheat. :-) The piece with the handle and curved ends is particularly nice looking.
