I inherited a pretty large amount of walnut from my grandfather. It was always his wood of choice for projects. Once I moved into my new house and got my little wood shop set up my first project was this Walnut TV Stand. To keep with the rustic look of the house I left the light color and some of the damaged areas of the wood intact. It really gave me the marble look I was shooting for. Overall very pleased with the outcome. Everything was made using 3/4” stock.

Very nice table and you are a very lucky man to get walnut inherited – that is an expensive an gorgeous species for furniture. What kind of joinery did you use to attach the legs? I am looking to build my son something like this (shorter and a little longer) and do not have any joinery jigs.

Thanks for the comment. The legs are made of 3”x.75” boards. I glued two together to make 3”x1.5” legs then cut them to length. They are held in place by the “track” that goes around the bottom of the table top using pocket holes made from a Kreg Jig. I fastened each leg in place then fastened the table top to the “track”. The shelf is also attached using some pocket holes. This really helped make the legs more rigid. Hopefully this answers your question.
