Here are a few engravings I have done with my dremel. I printed the pattern using normal paper, and traced it onto the board using a dull pencil. This left a slight indention into the soft pine. I then took another pencil and darkened the line to know where I needed to carve out. Each one is finished slightly different. The first one the letters were burned using a lighter then sanded to remove the burn marks from the top surface then sanded to 220 and finished with spare urethane and was a Christmas present to my in laws. The second one (welcome) was carved by a friend of mine showing how to do this technique, I then sanded to 220, stained and then 3 coats of wipe on poly sanding in between each coat. The last was a step stool for my daughter made from pine and sanded to 220, painted “double chocolate” and then I painted the letters in pink.

Nice, careful work. They all look good. I’ll bet Linzy is happy, too.

Yeah she likes it, she is getting to big for it now though.. Maybe I’ll move it into the kitchen since the counter is bigger there.
