Walnut Mini Crib

This is my first big project. I built it for my fourth daughter. It is a mini crib which fits a 24” x 38” mattress. I used black walnut and dowel joinery. I finished it with “Special Linseed Oil” from Earth Paint. It took a ridiculous amount of time. I learned more about wood working and patience in the last 7 months then the previous 34 years. I learned that wood glue dries really fast when you have 24 dowels that have to all go together at the same time. I might try my hand at mortise and tenon joints next time. The pictures don’t do the wood justice. Bad lighting. Comments are welcome. Thanks for looking.

It looks fantastic. Well done! I hope to be up to the task when it comes time for my kids.

Beautiful! I’m going to favorite this for future reference. Is that 4/4 walnut?

Nice work.

Very impressive sir. I was too nervous to do the crib for my daughter. Maybe the next child.
