I posted my 1st intarsia project, the Goldfish, here a few days ago. You can see it here.

I chose the 2 mice and the cheese for my 2nd project. It uses 4 different colored woods:

1. black ebony for the eyes
2. beech for the body of the mice
3. yellow heartwood for the cheese
4. maple for the inside of the ears and the tails

Making the 2 small tails is a little bit of a challenge. But I am used to sanding and making small parts for previous projects, so it was not that difficult for me.

If you are interested in my trials & tribulations of making this intarsia project, see my web site.

When I saw your first piece, the goldfish, my thought was that you needed some color in it.
Glad to see your stepping up your game…...............

The Goldfish is the first and simplest project in Kathy Wise’s book. I think her idea is that you first project is all done out of 1 piece of wood, so it therefore simple.

The mice and cheese are level 2 project in her book, because now you are using 4 different types of wood.

Thanks
