This summer I had projects that needed the use of my miter saw. I had to set it up on saw horses and try to cut lumber 8’ long. I had seen fancy roller type miter saw benches and was thinking of buying one. The neighbor asked if I could use his old grill for anything before he threw it out. I looked it over and immediately saw what I could use it for.

I removed the old grill from the base and added a wooden base for the miter saw to sit on. I adjusted the base so that the top of the miter saw was even with the outer shelves. I lagged the saw to the wooden base and there you have it.

The wheels on the old grill allow me to drag it all over the yard. I have since added adjustable rollers to the each end that will allow me to hold 10’ lumber without any problem. I haven’t got pictures of the rollers yet. To cold in WNY!

This is GREAT repurposing – you made a practical item at low cost both monetarily AND environmentally. Congratulations on your idea and execution, and thanks for your Green-ness!

Great idea! I have used old grill stands in the past to make plant stands for my wife but you have opened my eyes to a whole new way of looking at those things.

Great innovative idea, love the wheels for portability and the repurpose of the grill
