this was my first project, Its made of maple with sliding dovetails on the rails into the legs and hand made clamps under the top to allow for wood movement. Stain is cherry I didnt really want to stain it but my wife insisted. Finished with Tung oil finish. This is of course an older project I am just now getting around to adding.

It breaks my heart when people want me to paint or stain an object when I worked so hard to bring out the best of the wood that I selected : (
Did you have a chance to get any pix before the stain went on ?

yes I did but one thing the stain did was help to pop the grain. wished I had used the method I learned after the fact from the wood whisperer.

I just bought some BLO from Woodcraft to try for something different . They said it will also pop the grain in TigerMaple which I hope that they are right . I’ll have to see what Marc S. suggests .Thank you and have a great week !
