This rocker belonged to my great grandfather. My mom found it when cleaning out my G-pas house. It was in 3 pieces when I got it, and it was covered in a very dark stain that covered the grain. I thought it was pine the way it was all gooped up. The round tennons were cut with some sort of corkscrew cutter. And the mortises had rounded bottoms, so I think they were bored out and eased the bottom some how. There was a dot in the center so now I dont think it was a spoon type bit.

Beautiful grain, it looks like it was a lot of work to refinish it. Good job!
