Using some scrap around the shop, I made a bunch of small boxes. Because it is the beginning of the year, I called them Valentine’s Day jewelry boxes and they sold like hot cakes. Simple rabbet joints for the sides, birch ply lined on the inside with purple velvet on the bottoms and tung oil and wax finish.

Woods used: Maple, Purpleheart, Walnut, Ambrosia Maple, Oak, Cherry and Rosewood.

Nice looking boxes, tried last night for the first time making a box, didn’t go over so well haha, messed up gluing the joints.

I like them too. Seems like a simple design, that would be good for beginners. Simply glued together?

Everything is just glued. The only tricky part is fitting the top and bottom so there are no gaps. if you start with something slightly larger and shave down slowly, it will fit nicely.
