This looks like a very handy piece, and you did a excellent job on it. What kind of wood is it, and is it all solid wood or did you use any plywood?

it is solid cherry, with just clear ureathane for a finish. My father in law has it and now it is hard to see the top. as he has it covered with remotes, magazines etc.

Missed this, only two comments? Well I like it. Great idea, design and you craftsmanship is flawless. I can see that piece being well loved and used, for many years. Nice.
