Just love what you can do with a regular old plank from the lumber store. Carved with knives and dremel. Finished with minwax stain and poly. It’s gonna be hung in the CPO Mess. Legacy gift from the FY15 guys. They needed a hat rack in there, badly.

Things I learned:
1. Oil based poly is a brat when the weather shifts.
2. It’s very hard to feather in a mistake in any weather.
3. It’s very hard to make everybody happy. Numerous requests for “all” the warfare devices and other personals. (How to respond: “You want this finished one day, right?”)

Best compliment I got on this: “Did you really do all this by hand?” Yes, no CNC or laser stuff involved. I did it all. I love freehand work. Dremels may get poo-pooed, but there’s skill in there.

Navy Chiefs. Can’t live without ‘em, can’t kill ‘em. Nice work.
