I made this for our (soon to be) babies room from a couple of 4/4 Ash boards. In the essence of time (i.e. finish the nursery) I used screws and dowel plugs instead of the mortise and tenon joinery. I finished it with some Early American stain, two coats of amber shellac, and a 50/50 blend of poly/mineral spirits.

I played football in college and my dad got that bobble head made for me – I had a huge head of hair and a beard.

I like that. I will be making a book case for my own baby room soon. I might take some inspiration from this one.

Nice looking Stickley bookcase! Now that you’ve built one, there’s no reason not to build another one at a more leisurely pace.
