I got rid of my $100 box store table saw after the fence gripper busted off and was totally useless. I decided to strip off random bits in case they where useful and for once they where!
The front rail has a 1/4” T-slot so I put some cantilever grippers to hold it to the piece of 5/8” birch MDF scrap I had kicking around. It actually works SO WELL that I have totally thrown out the idea of making a fancy one with T-slots for hold downs.
I use a little side wing piece of the rail and a $0.99 C-clamp as a stop. I plan on putting a drywall screw in the plastic end cap to use as a micro adjust.
