First Caricature Carving

This is my first caricature carving attempt,it took me about 3hours to carve with knives and chisels.It is made from lime wood and finished with acrylic paint.I have loads more blocks of lime so this is the first of many!

What is lime wood?

its the type of wood used for carving here.its kind of like basswood.

It’s the easiest way to carve if you put the hands in the pockets,as hands are hard to carve,thanks

Great job on your first figure carving! Limewood is the same species as Basswood, but called Limewood in Britain. Here in Norway it is called Linden.

Very good and I see Mike has spotted it already!

Looks like an inter country vist is in order for you guys to compare notes and test out Guiness and I am not sure what they drink in Norway possibly Vodka.
