I have always wanted to build one of these! I really like the finish, too often it seems people over-stain projects which look good at the time but in ten or fifteen years the color is out of style and the piece becomes awkward. Clear finish on gorgeous wood never goes out of style though, great choice.

Hey Purp
I cut out the tongue of the bread board with several tenons I glued the center tenon and pegged the others with elongated holes for wood movement

This is awesome, my Dad built me a desk very similar to this but not anywhere near as nice, it was my college desk easy to set up and take apart still use it, as a computer desk but oh boy does it sway, yours is beauty first function after, mine is absolutely sentimental, he wrote me a note on the bottom, but I don’t think he intended on me using it for the next 15 years. By the way it was our first stain color vs natural conversation, it’s green! Beautiful!

Hey Jim,
Very nice table! How wide are the trestle bases? I have been commissioned to build a trestle table 7’ long by 3 1/2’ wide and I am trying to figure out how wide and thick to make the Trestles.
