A very good design for a book shelf. What is the weight? Can it be hung on wall?

LarryS:
In your plan you had a vertical piece supporting the top shelf which did not appear in the final product. I think that I’d agree that for the span, with support from the back sagging shouldn’t be an issue. I was wondering what your thoughts were for discarding that design factor.

To answer a couple comments:
sharad—The weight is primarily from the books, and can be significant. I wouldn’t recommend hanging it as built.
Bureaucrat—I opted to tie it into the back panel, and that seemed sufficient. The board in front on the bottom shelf was primarily to keep debris from entering a gap at the bottom (lost toy and housekeeping concerns).
