A recent post teenagewoodworker sent me down memory lane. I was at camp near where I lived in NWT Canada. I believe I was about 13 or 14 at the time (~37 years ago?). My friend and I wanted to go fishing but live bait is illegal in NWT (the fishing is too easy) and the only lure we had was one of his dad’s and we didn’t want to chance loosing it, so I made these patterned after that lure. They didn’t work very well, but it was fun making them. They were carved with a hunting knife and there is a piece of #10 copper wire embedded along the length of it, glued in with epoxy, to hold the hook.
Just thought I’d share the memory, and thanks teenagewoodworker for the reminder.

And you still have them after all these years. Or you only have the pictures which is even more remarkable.
