This piece was a commission from a young married couple that I had given a plate rack/shelf to for a wedding present.
When they bought their first house they asked for a nic nac shelf with pegs and made out of oak. They gave specific dimensions so that it would fit a bathroom wall.
I really enjoy the shape and functionality of this piece, and perhaps a little femininity is evident to please the lady.
You might notice the pegs hadn’t been driven home yet as I wanted to make sure everything was just right before I delivered the piece. I took these photos in my old shop 16 years ago.
The finish is light walnut under spray satin lacquer.
