I made this for my dad for Christmas and am just getting around to posting the pictures. I took ruff measurements from the 1950s metal stand that he keeps in his music room so I hoped it would fit most of his 30 something guitars that he has.
I didn’t follow any plans and only bought 2 boards and dowels and some plugs. The design is something that just came to me as I sketched out the shape on the quilted/figured maple. The Tiger Oak shape was fashioned from the Star Trek emblem as he is also a fan. The fuzzy stuff is real sheep skin!
There were no screws or bolts used here. I used the 1/2 walnut dowels and drilled completely through the maple when I made this. I finished it was satin lacquer.
I hope you all like it.
