Two Christmas present pictures frames for the grandparents – QS red oak with walnut pins and walnut with maple pins. Finished with one coat of BLO and 2 coats of varnish then wax. To make it interesting for me (and to learn something new), I used a half-lap miter joint from a Fine Woodworking article earlier this year. I hope to use this joint on some doors on a china hutch I have a long term commitment to my wife to build.
