My boyfriend and I have been enjoying antique treasure hunting lately, and last week he found these shark jaws. They were mounted on what looked like a piece of split firewood. I knew I wanted to redo the mount and happen to have some cedar tree trunk chunks lying around to dry. So, I found my first use for a slice of it! I’ve never messed around with any taxidermy related projects, and haven’t ever seen these mounted to a log slice like this, but I think I like the way it turned out. :)

I like it, but the jaws are upside-down.

Really cool. Looks like the kiss of death.

I’ve been collecting shark stuff for over 40 years. Years ago I had mounted a lot of shark jaws upside down. I still do a lot of personal “shark art” projects. a few are here on my lumberjocks page.
