My wife wanted some simple secret santa gifts for her coworkers in the doctors office. Marc’s video had perfect timing.
Walnut frame, some figured maple for the center, and cherry splines to reinforce the miter joints.
I finished this with 3 coats of Waterlox then used Briwax clear.
Clock movements are 2 3/4 inch items from woodcraft (10.99 each) – I did order the 2 3/8 Forstner bit rather than using a router and hole guide as Marc showed in his video, since the bit was only 15 bucks at Woodcraft at the same time I got the clock parts, and shipping was free for the holidays.
Since this was for my wifes coworkers – - the order was “approved” in record time
Just in time for work tomorrow

Nice job Dave. I made one of these myself for my wife for Christmas http://lumberjocks.com/projects/11436. It was a fun little project.

Very nice work. And nice lumber choices too (you’ll see why when I post the 4 I’m currently finishing up) :o)
