Hi Everyone…I’ve started making music boxes and then I wood burn the sides or top according to the tune used. This one is made of basswood and stained. I burned the rocking horse on top and the tune is Rock-A-Bye-Baby. Comments always welcomed. Hugs…Danette

Well done and great burn! Does the music box come in a kit or something and you make the box for it?

Thanks everyone! My husband is making my boxes…like the one that the sleeping baby was burned on. The box with the rocking horse was bought at a craft store…I carefully check them out for quality. The music movements I buy over the internet…they are 18 note movements and play up to 3 minutes. They come enclosed in a white plastic case…all you need to do is drill the holes on the bottom of the box to screw the music piece in. You can remove the cover if you want to see the movement and cover it over with an acrylic pane. My husband lines my boxes in felt and builds a wood cover to fit over the movement piece and covers that with felt giving it a multi level look. Hugs…Danette

Danette, Very nice box, and I like the way you match the picture to the tune.

You do really beautiful work. I’ve always wanted to learn the patience for wood burning.
