I found this old marble top in a junk pile at my dad’s. It cleaned up well and I decided to make a small server cabinet to fit the top. Wood is air-dried walnut with a hand-rubbed oil-poly finish over shellac.

Nice looking cabinet, great looking walnut. I like the sapwood in the walnut, a lot of people try to stain in out or cut it out. To me its a nice contrasting part of the wood. Good job. jockmike2

I’m partial to the legs myself. You should think about adding some tags. Perhaps walnut and cabinet.

A very nice piece and I agree with jockmike to me the sapwood adds so much character to a piece it is almost like working with two different wood types. And yes I am a walnut addict also.Nothing like walking into the shop and smelling the walnut the day after. The colors really get me too.
