My wife knew that I enjoyed playing poker with the guys so she gave me a poker fold up table top for Christmas. After using it a few times on a fold up card table I discovered it would slide around and that it didn’t work very well on a square table.
I decided to make a custom base for the poker top and ended up with this project. The base has fold up legs for storage and with the removable poker top it can be used for other functions as well.

Maybe you have one of the poker top hidden away and this may inspire you.

I was confused for a bit, but I figured out that you built an octagonal table that fits the fold up poker surface perfectly. Nicely done and now you have a nice table for other functions as you said. Years ago we used to play craps at the firehouse for fun with a just a felt cloth with the table printed on it. One night we got a wild hair to build an actual table, so off to lowes we went and built a table top out of plywood and 1×6, complete with a rail for our sodas.
