I made about 15 of these for Christmas gifts. Walnut is my favorite wood, love to run a rough sawn board through the planner.Waiting on the other side to see what pattern I’ve got this time.Added a few more pics thanks for looking.

Nice looking project woodnut. I’m with you as far as walnut goes. Sapwood and all, to me it give the wood character and contrast. You’re right about the planer. I just finished planing a bunch of walnut and you never know what you’re gonna get…..Sounds like Forest Gump. Good job anyway. jockmike

Totally missed these first time around! Nice job. I have the same wonder about what the planer and a clearcoat finish will reveal from the rough milled lumber.
