Anyone ever notice that after you have been woodworking for awhile you start to see things in the wood?

I was batching out more cutting boards and I looked at the unusable ends I had cut off and realized they sort of resembled a cityscape. A few days later I had stained a piece of plywood and glued the scraps onto it and after a couple coats of spray lacquer… voila, art!

I was afraid it would come out to be junk but it actually got the point across. At some point I’ll play around more with the idea.

It looks fantastic!
I had a similar experience with a board this summer. I glued it up to a black walnut board, beveled the edges, and made it into a hanging picture and sold it!
