Saved Armoire

My buddy had tenants that left this beautiful armoire and he wanted to throw it away. It looked in pretty bad shape but it was mostly because finish was old and needed refinishing. It looked really good too me, it had good quality feel and it was really heavy. I just could not let him throw it away so I decided to take it and in worst case just keep it in garage for tools. After I started to remove original finish I found out that this is Eathan Allen armoire and after contacting their customer service I found that this is from their Royal Charter Oak collection and it was built 1978 same year I was born.
Unfortunately I don’t have picture before refinishing process but color was much darker than Special Walnut that I have used. Some pieces where missing so I had to build them.

Nice refinishing job … shame to think this could have been thrown away.
