Kids activity table from scrap poplar offcuts

This project was made entirely out of scrap poplar 2” -3” wide, glued up into panels and milled into the boards needed for the project.

Table top is 24×30” and the 24” high. The drawer is on 22” full extension slides and is 5 1/2” deep to hold all kinds of small toy parts.

The poplar was free from the local millworks. I paid for the 1/4” mdf for the drawer bottom, the drawer slides and the drawer pulls.

Obviously building larger pieces of stock from smaller offcuts takes a lot of time, but in the end it can pay off.
