I built this Entertainment Center to hold my new flat screen TV. We finally replaced our old TV that was in an Armoire I built several years ago. We delayed getting a new TV because they don’t fit in smaller cabinets like they use to.

This is the first time I have used “knotty alder” and actually finding wood with interesting “knots” was something I had to get use to, I enjoyed the project. It’s stained with Rustoleum Dark Walnut, then two coats of gloss polyurethane and a final coat of satin polyurethane. I taught woodworking for 20 years in a high school, but it doesn’t seem like I get to do many of my own projects unless I’m getting paid to do them.

This is my 1st submission to Lumber Jocks.

Welcome to LJ’s. That’s a nice looking cabinet there. The stained alder actually looks very close to real walnut from those photos. Nice job.

Looks good. I like the protruding ends versus just a flat front.
Well done.
