This is my quick and simple Moxon vice, made out of 2×8’s, 12 inches between the clamps and opens to 6 inches.

I am very pleased with the results.

not sure what you’re looking for RT31, pretty straight forward.

most people will use pieces of plywood laminated together for the main part of the vice, I didn’t have that much scrap plywood lying around, so I used a 2×8, piece of scrap plywood for the base, which is screwed to the bottom of the stationary part for clamping to the bench, I cut a another strip about the same length for a brace on the back side of the stationary part. Used a 15/16 spade bit to drill the holes for the size of pipe I had, drilled screw into the pieces of the clamp to attach to the vice. Cut the pipe to the length that will work for you.

hope this helps

Rt31, I remember seeing something similar on youtube, I think on Jay Bates’ channel.

I should make something like this as well, but I actually want to mount it on my bench side, which means I couldn’t slide the pipes in the rear ckamps easily.

Jay does have one, and it looked good, but I wanted something more portable
