a crib i built for my daughter. i used knock down hardware and designed the crib so that it can be turned into a full size bed when amalia is old enough.

Very nice. I like that she can grow into the bed.

That crib looks better than most I’ve seen. Great job. My Amalia says “gurggle gaagamaaa”. (She’s 6 months.)

agree….nice work! I wish I would of had the time before my son was born to make him a crib.
great idea to make it so that it can be turned into a full size later

now that my son is old enough (2 years old) I plan to build him a full size bed…can’t wait… hope it comes out as nice as your project!

thank you all so much for the kind words and for welcoming me to your community. the crib is made of red oak, and i think it’s based on the mission style of furniture, but i’m not positive. i look at pieces i like and try to figure out how i can include similar traits into my projects. however mission and the arts and crafts styles are definitely my favorite. the mattress is adjustable, however the front does not raise and lower, like a lot of cribs, i couldn’t figure out how to make the front raise and lower and still use it as a footboard for a bed.

Probably just as well that it doesn’t raise and lower. Many of the recalls on cribs are for the gates crashing down and causing injury. This looks like a neat project. Seeing the monkeys reminds me of some rhymes from 30 years ago with my kids something about monkeys jumping on the bed. Brought up a fond memory, thanks.
