My First $300 Pen

Project by Kerux posted 344 days ago 808 views 1 time favorited 18 comments Add to Favorites Watch

Elvis is back in the building. This is a commissioned piece for a die hard Elvis fan. It is a Jr Emperor with Alt Ivory blanks. I put the photo work together and sheet music (Can’t Stop Falling In Love) together and Ken Nelson did my engraving. Along the bottom of the pen is an exact replica of Elvis’ Signature.

I couldn’t decide what photo’s I liked… Black velvet background or the white. So I’m putting up several photo’s.

Hmmm! Did you make a profit? That had to be both material and labor intensive.
Great job.

When I worked in an office for 25 years and had a thing for pens. I must have had 75 pens. Some good some bad some to just look at. Suprizingly I like an ink pen. I used it a lot, but ball point pens where at the top of my list. Me and the wife vacationed in New Orleans one year and in an area where they sell items for vacationers they had a booth selling only ball point pens. I was in heaven. They sold for only $3.00 each ( in 1985) and I when home with 10, wanting more. Your pen is just a looker, only to be removed from the case to show off. The price of 300.00 is not what it cost but what you could get for it. When your customer show off your pen your ears will ring knowing that you made it.
Great project. Great workmenship. Great creativity….

Excellent job. I’m not an Elvis Fan, but I like how you put the sigature on the bottom part. Very handsomelly done. It’s a nice strong design and not too glitzy. Any Elvis Fan would drool over this one. It has an elegant flair to it. If you do another one, I would use a single portrait on the top part. One showing just his face.
