I made this for a friend from Ireland who went to live and work in Canada,He seen a bumper sticker on a car that was half maple leaf half shamrock and asked me to carve it for him.I used a router to take the background down then chisels to do the rest of the work. The carving is in beech with a walnut stand.I used two screws to join the base and carving so if it ever has to be refinished it can be done easily. I finished to 600grit then Danish oiled the project.I added felt to the base to stop it from sliding around.
