Made these for my parents, found a plan in a mission style furniture book I have, tweaked the design to fit my taste a bit, mainly hiding the cord. One of the sides is butt jointed with screws and the other side is jointed with a sliding dovetail.
I have almost completely burned up my Jatoba stash and even though I love the look of the wood I am glad to be almost done with it. It is just miserable to work with, and my pile of tools needing sharpening keeps growing.
Its good to be done with gifts, this is the first year I am not trying to complete a project 2 days before the 25th.
