New pickup models

Project by studeag posted 330 days ago 345 views 0 times favorited 10 comments Add to Favorites Watch

Here are some 2 new models of pickups, a medium size with single rear wheels, and a large size with dual rear wheels. The medium size is 17 1/4” long with 2 1/2” wheels, 8 1/2” long x 3 1/2 wide box. The large size is 20” long with 2 3/4” wheels with a 11” long x 3 1/2” wide box. They are made from walnut. The third one is a special medium one for a customer who bought 20.

These look great. I am always so impressed with your work. Are those wheels something that you buy or that you make. I love the look of them.

These are wheels that I buy, but do some modifications to them, I insert a slab wheel in the front ones and turns them on the lathe, for the back ones, I do some holes in the back of the wheels. Toys and Joys will show you on there patterns how to do that. I do have a project to do my one wheels in the future.

Thank you!

Very nice work. Did you design them yourself or work from plans? The walnut looks good, adds to the realism.

Yes Robert, I design them myself, I’ve got all the dimensions, and maby will produce my owne plans. Brian, the customer who bought these is selling veneer and this is his product in the back of the pickup.
