I was recently commissioned to build a Hat Box for a newly selected Coast Guard Chief Petty Officer. This new Chief started his career as a Boatswains Mate and later changed over to Master At Arms. I used my CNC machine to cut the emblems for Boatswains Mate, Master at Arms and USCG Chief. I mounted the Coast Guard flag behind glass in the back of the Hat Box and installed a puck light in the top of the box to light up the whole inside. The box is made from solid Cherry wood, stained Red Mahogany and finished with clear lacquer.
