built this tv stand out of cherry boards and plywood
actually the four legs are salvages mahogany from Chapters!
all joints are mortisse and tenon, splines and dados.
only place I used screws was for the stand top…everything else is glued
it’s not the fanciest thing in the world but I was pretty happy with it since it was my first project of this type..
I had done other things before but never out of wood that would not be painted..
big difference in terms of how tight things have to be since you can’t hide them with putty!
making the doors inset was also more complicated since you have to be bang on with the doors…
the first image is a custom hole for all the wires to go through
fun project… a learning experience for sure!

stained with Minwax Wood Finish – Cherry 235
and applied about 3 coats of tung oil. First time I had used tung oil… I like it..
the reason for the tung oil was for the non toxic qualities. I’ve used in a few other projects since… I really like it
