Her first jewelry Box

Project by Douglas Krueger posted 351 days ago 692 views 2 times favorited 11 comments Add to Favorites Watch

Every girl needs a jewelry box and this is my grand daughters first one, with the understanding that it is not Grandpa’s responsibility to fill it. Dovetail joinery with a bit of Dowelmax, wooden hinges and a sliding tray. Wood is Thailand mai padoo, finish is spray poly.

Absolutely beautiful box! I’m sure she will have no trouble filling it one way or another.

Great work Doug, but shouldn’t a Grandpa put at least something inside it? The grain in the top looks great.

Beautiful jewelry box, right down to design, finish and wooden hinges, what a fantastic finish. Great job, she’ll love it.

Thanks for all the kind words and I will be putting a little something in it for her. She loves elephants and I see them regularly walking down the road near the house so there is plenty of elephant related paraphernalia to be had, should be able to come up with something to begin the filling process.
