This box is veneered with curly makore and edged with solid eastern maple. the box is lined with felt. The initials on the front are done with mother-of-pearl.

Thats a great looking box. The Hummingbirds set it off. I think a red felt to match the red in the birds would have looked better though.

Great box! After the wonderful marquetry, I love the tray handle and the splines, and the outer frame inlay being carried down the mitered corners of the box. My hat is off to you.

Thanks again, the color of the felt was what the customer wanted, to match her room. Red usually goes good with mahogany colored wood.
