It started out as a box to store my 90 degree drill chuck. Missed the width by about 1/4”. I was also setting my Stott/Milescraft Dovetail fixture. This was the test cuts. It works great! I posted that a while back.

The wood is Red Oak firewood from Hurricane Gustav. It was stacked in a barn for two years. My wife did burn the twisted knotty pieces, but I got the Primo chunks. I had just set up my Riken 10” band saw. I was looking for some wood to resaw. I did not want to cover the dovetails with the top so I just sanded a 45 degree back bevel.
Glued some strips inside to locate the top. It was all made from one piece of the firewood. The finish is BLO.

My wife really likes the way it came out. She said the top looks like the Ark of the Covenant.
Thanks for looking.
