I built a couple of birdhouses to give away at Christmas. They are made from cedar and redwood. I followed/modified a plan from Wood magazine. The finish is just wiped on tung oil, but it turned out terrible because it was too cold in the garage. I hope the birds don’t mind.

Update: Added a pic with a resident.

A good, simple, but oohs earning idea. And, if the finish were too good, your giftees might not acutally use them. Better to look a little rough. A great project.
