That’s knot a pantry mouse (a knot like no other challange)
This project started from a comment about canned goods storage. I couldn’t find the soup, she said build me a cupboard. Well being a true lumber jock, I was put into mega mode and started sawing. I don’t have many tools so most of this work was improvised with homemade tools and hard work. I wanted angles and pins, to me that is what I thought cool furniture should look like. It turned out to be one of the greatest challenges I ‘ve ever tried. I bought this wormy chestnut wood in West Virginia, it is 100 + years old it was full of nails and knots and expensive. The pantry measures 71 inches high, 36 inches wide at bottom including tennons, 19 inches deep including glass pulls. My knot like no other has a mouse coming out of it, I have gotten a lot of chuckles from that. I think I entered this contest but, I’m not sure if I did it right, I couldn’t find a form. I’ve never tried to post a project before.
Thank you, Grampata

WOW, I really like this cabinet. Rustic look is great. Cool wood, like the rough hand worked look. Great exposed pins. Mouse is cool. Great functional piece.

I found the name knot a pantry mouse quite intriging. My eyes were immeadiately drawn to this pieces unique shape. This exquisite country pantry has remarkable craftsmanship. Theres not at single detail over looked, not even a mouse. The craftsman took advantage of the woods natural beauty, and took it to new heights, littleraly. What an amazing job you did my friend, I look forward to seeing more of your work.

Very nicely designed and executed. It has a lot of rustic, folk charm and yet is quite sophisticated. Whimsical and functional. I LOVE it!
